Exciting 5 Upgrades Coming to WhatsApp: Get Ready for Game-Changing Features like Screen Sharing, Usernames, and More, Impacting Billions of Users!
In 2023, WhatsApp will release a number of new features.
These comprise a screen-sharing function, a username-adding choice, and other features.
Users of iOS, Android, and desktop platforms will be able to access the functionalities.
Insert Usernames
Users will be able to add usernames to their accounts using a new feature.
Users will have an alternative to seeing phone numbers thanks to this functionality.
Additionally, it will provide users the option to make their phone numbers private, making only their usernames public.
This will allow users to speak with one another without sharing their phone numbers, adding an extra layer of protection.
When it becomes available, a specific section in the WhatsApp Settings > Profile menu will allow users to access the username feature.
Sharing a Screen
Users will be able to share their phone screen during a video conversation thanks to a new screen sharing functionality that is currently being developed.
During video calls, WhatsApp users will be able to share their screen via a dedicated icon in the call control view.
Once activated, the video callers will be able to see and record whatever the recipient chooses to display.
Only if the users agree to share the screen content will screen sharing be enabled.
Beta test participants for Android can presently access it.
Reminder For Password
For users of Android and iOS, Meta will shortly offer a password reminder tool.
Users can utilize the feature to check their encrypted backup password’s accuracy and update it if necessary.
By creating a personalized password or a special 64-digit encryption key, users can secure their backups with end-to-end encryption.
WhatsApp and the backup service providers (Apple and Google) won’t have access to the unlocking key or be able to read encrypted backups.
Filtering By App Language And Message Draught
Additionally, WhatsApp is testing a brand-new feature with its beta users that gives them the ability to change the app’s language and add a message content filter.
Here, WhatsApp has changed the “Language” setting in the app’s settings.
Those with access can easily utilize the app in a language other than their default language by changing the app’s language.
Select Windows beta users presently have access to the feature.
Business Status Archive Feature
Businesses now have a capability that lets them share previous status updates with customers.
The release of the status archive function will improve the platform’s Status tab.
Users will be informed when the functionality is available for their WhatsApp account once it has been released.
After 24 hours, users’ status updates will be archived on their devices if the feature is turned on.
Controlling Archive Preferences
Business users will get direct access from the menu inside the Status tab to adjust their archive preferences and view their archive status.
The gadget will keep the archived status updates for a total of 30 days.
Only the relevant firm will have access to the archived status to review its updates; it will remain secret to all users.
